Introduction
The George Hotel is an elegant Grade II listed Victorian Hotel (c1851) situated on the main square in Huddersfield. It is situated in the town center, just ten minutes from the M62. Leeds/Bradford and Manchester International Airport are easily accessible.
The hotel was designed by architect William Waller, and the Italianate facade of the building complements its neighbor, the Huddersfield Railway Station. The hotel is famous as the birthplace of Rugby League Football; the meeting that founded it was held here in 1895.
